Ridgefield, Washington is a diverse community full of activities for all ages. Since the first settler arrived at this location in 1853, people have been drawn to the gently sloping land that extends from the elevated highlands to the Lake River banks. Ridgefield is located in the Southwest corner of Washington and is approximately 20 miles north of Portland. The First Saturday celebrations occur each month with festivals and celebrations for the entire family. In August, the river romp includes activities for your canine family members as well. Local merchants abound in the historic downtown during these events for a farmer’s market, a bluegrass festival and a wine and chocolate festival. The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is an excellent spot to visit and support the native wildlife. Here, fishing, boating, and a historic walking tour can be enjoyed. The area also boasts a large community garden to mingle with other residents in the area and participate in collaborative gardening. Real estate is on the upward trend in Ridgefield. There are approximately 30 different neighborhoods in the area, all close to downtown for entertainment and activities all year round.
